American Vandal Season 2 Trailer Is On the Trail of the Turd Burglar
With true crime series and documentaries continuing to captivate audiences nationwide, the second season of American Vandal focuses on a very different kind of criminal.
The mockumentary Netflix series has returning fictional filmmakers Peter Maldonado and Sam Ecklund investigating a new crime, this time taking place at a private Catholic high school: The infamous Turd Burglar. Netflix has released the first trailer for Season 2 of the comedy series but be warned; there is a serious amount of bodily waste.
As the culprit poisons the students with a potent laxative causing them all to defecate uncontrollably later taunting his victims online. Fresh off tracking down a phallic graffiti artist, Maldonado and Ecklund team up once again to discover who is behind the lavatorial injustice through interviews and archive footage.
Developed as a satire of true crime series such as Netflix’s own Making a Murderer or This American Life‘s popular podcast Serial, American Vandal premiered last September to widespread critical acclaim praising the new show’s balance of humor and investigative crime storytelling. Netflix officially renewed the series for a second season the following October.
Created by Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda with Dan Lagana serving as the series showrunner, American Vandal stars Tyler Alvarez and Griffin Gluck. The series is scheduled to return for its second season on September 14 on Netflix.
