Arrow’s New Showrunner Says Season 7 Has A Very Specific Theme
In Arrow Season 7, Oliver Queen must seek redemption. According to Beth Schwartz, The CW series’ new showrunner, the former Star City Mayor will need to redeem himself in the eyes of the city he spent seven years defending as the Green Arrow.
“The theme for Season 7 is redemption. As you’ll see, since last season when Oliver outed his identity, the city is a little bit mixed about how they feel about the Green Arrow,” she revealed at Comic-Con International in San Diego. “So his whole season is about redemption, and all the characters will touch on that as well.”

If earlier comments from star Stephen Amell and director James Bamford are any indication, Oliver is going to need it. “The thing I like about Oliver in the premiere and the thing that’s been fun to play is that there’s nothing about him that’s heroic. It’s kind of the opposite, and that’s cool,” Amell teased. “You’ll see a completely different Oliver Queen,” Bamford added.
Premiering Monday, October 15 at 8 pm ET on The CW, Arrow Season 7 stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, Rick Gonzalez as Wild Dog, Echo Kellum as Mr. Terrific, Juliana Harkavy as Black Canary and Katie Cassidy as Black Siren.
