It’s official: Batwoman begins this December. The CW has announced the dates and times for this year’s three-show Arrowverse crossover. As played by John Wick: Chapter 2 star Ruby Rose, Batwoman will make her Arrowverse debut in this year’s crossover. This version of Batwoman, Kate Kane, was introduced in 2006 as a socialite who dons a cape and cowl to fight crime in Gotham City. The logline for the character describes her as “an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet: in a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.” The hope is for the character to spin off into her own solo series.
Unlike last year, 2018’s Arrowverse crossover will not include DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Though the ensemble series will not take part in the yearly crossover in 2018, an earlier report speculates characters from the show could potentially make an appearance in the storyline.
