CW Has No Plans to End Any of Its DC Superhero Shows
As the CW prepares to introduce Batwoman and a subsequent series following the character, rumors have been circulating that the network will cancel one of its five other superhero TV shows. However, those rumors are seemingly untrue.
“We have five on the air but we also added a sixth night (of network programming),” CW president Mark Pedowitz told the Television Critics Association, as reported by Deadline. “Shows do eventually end but we have no plans to end any of them right now. We’ll see where we come out as the season goes on.”

Pedowitz previously promised the network would not air more than four superhero shows at once, leading to an unprecedented nine-week hiatus for Supergirl. It’s unclear how the choice to add Batwoman to the line-up might affect the scheduling of other CW shows, if at all.
Rumors surrounding potential cancellations have primarily focused on Arrow — especially after star Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, remarked that he wants the upcoming seventh season of Arrow to be written as if it’s the last. However, speculation about the cancellation of Arrow is a near-annual event,. Following Pedowitz’s statement, there’s no reason to believe the show will end with Season 7.
