Flash Season 5 Costume Test Photo Reveals More Comics-Accurate Look
The first trailer for the upcoming fifth season of The CW’s The Flash showed Barry Allen finally receiving the iconic costume ring, a staple of the hero’s comic book history. But a new leak suggests Season 5 will introduce a new costume that forgoes the leather-clad aesthetic in favor of a more vibrant, comics-accurate look.
An artist’s interpretation of the purported new design was uploaded to the Real World of Flash Instagram page, accompanied by a caption that reads, “The Season 5 suit will consist of no leather at all. It’s now all textured spandex and made up of panels sewn together… Boots are red with more gold around the top.”
Citing “insider info,” the post explains that, “I was able to see a test photo of the suit and I really liked it… However, one thing I didn’t like with how the new suit looked was how small the emblem was on his chest. But everything else made up for it.”

Moreover, The Nerd Corner UK has posted what purports to be a leaked image of The Flash star Grant Gustin wearing a prototype of the Season 5 costume.
The CW has yet to release any images of the new Season 5 suit, so fans will have to wait and see whether these details pan out.
Returning Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker, Tom Cavanaugh, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Nicolet, Hartley Sawyer and Jessica Parker Kennedy.
