Gotham Star Riffs on Phoenix’s Joker Look – With a Mister Rogers Twist
Last week, Joker director Todd Phillips revealed a first look at Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck in his Joker makeup. Now, Gotham star Cameron Monaghan has riffed on Phoenix’s look while bringing Mister Rogers into the mix.
Monaghan posted a gif on Twitter of Mister Rogers putting on a clown mask, writing, “Jeremiah Valeska – Gotham (2018).” The video seems to be a tongue-in-cheek joke directed at Phoenix’s Joker, who wears makeup similar to that of Rogers’ mask.

Monaghan plays Jeremiah Valeska, Gotham’s version of the Clown Prince of Crime, though the series won’t refer to him as such. Valeska was last seen in the Gotham Season 4 finale, where he formed an alliance with Ra’s Al Ghul to destroy Bruce Wayne’s city. It’s safe to assume that Valeska is now roaming the streets of a desolate Gotham City, and that he will return to challenge the future Dark Knight once again.
Gotham stars Ben McKenzie as James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Robin Lord Taylor as Penguin, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, and Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth. It is scheduled to return on Fox for its fifth and final season on March 15, 2019.
