Judge Dredd Live-Action Series Taps Rob Williams as Creative Lead
The upcoming Judge Dredd: Mega City One television series will be nothing if not authentic. It was announced today that Rob Williams, long-time Judge Dredd writer for 2000 AD, has boarded the show as Creative Lead. The news comes from Judge Dredd owners Rebellion at Comic-Con International: San Diego.
Williams is perhaps best known as the Judge Dredd writer responsible for arcs like “Trifecta,” “Titan” and the “Enceladus” series. As Creative Lead on the show, Williams headed up the writing team for the pilot. He also worked with a team of writers to hammer out the plot for the show’s first few seasons.

Rebellion also announced today that an overarching plot for the series’ first two seasons has been established and that a script for the pilot has been completed. It was also revealed that Judge Dredd: Mega City One won’t focus solely on the eponymous Judge Dredd but will rather be an ensemble drama.
“I’ve read the pilot script by Rob and the team and got that same thrill I did when I first discovered Judge Dredd,” Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley said in a statement. “As we drive this project forward I’m always surprised by how much effort goes on behind-the-scenes to bring something like Mega-City One to the screen. I’m very pleased with how the whole project is coming together and looking forward to more exciting announcements in the coming months.”
Judge Dredd: Mega City One will follow a group of police officers under an authoritarian regime who are tasked with keeping the peace in one massive city that spans much of the East Coast — Mega City One.
