Luke Cage Star Wants Barack Obama to Cameo on Series
Luke Cage star Mike Colter wants a big name to cameo in the next season of his hit Marvel-Netflix show: 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama.
Mentioning to Colter how Obama recently signed a deal to produce shows for Netflix, TMZ reports Colter said, “I think he could cameo in anything he wants to. He has an open door for anywhere he wants to go, I think.”
Colter joked, “We shoot in Harlem, we got a lot of good places to eat. He can come and do a cameo and we can have a bite to eat.”
While one would expect the revered former president to play a hero, Colter thinks otherwise: “I don’t know man, he might have to change it up. He’s been a hero a long time, maybe he can be a villain this time.”

However, at the end of the day, it’s showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker’s choice who appears (and doesn’t appear) on the Marvel Comics adaptation, admits Colter. “I leave that up to Cheo. We got a lot of guys out there who are great but Cheo makes the choices,” Colter said. “I’m just happy these guys love the show enough to come out and give us their talent.”
Streaming now on Netflix, Marvel’s Luke Cage Season 2 stars Mike Colter, Simone Missick, Alfre Woodard, Theo Rossi, Mustafa Shakir, Gabrielle Dennis, Rosario Dawson, and Reg E. Cathey. It is developed for television by Cheo Hodari Coker.
