RUMOR: Pedro Pascal Eyed to Lead Jon Favreau’s Live-Action Star Wars Series
The upcoming live-action Star Wars series from Iron Man director Jon Favreau may have a man from Westeros in its cast.
According to MakingStarWars, Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal is being eyed for the central lead in the upcoming sci-fi series, which is expected to take place between the events of The Force Awakens and 1983’s Return of the Jedi. The series, currently untitled and believed to currently be shooting, is supposedly about the restoration of Mandalore, which fell to pieces during the Clone Wars. Mandalore has been featured prominently in both animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.

Pascal, who played Oberyn Martell during the fourth season of Thrones, starred in Fox’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle as well as the Netflix series Narcos during its first three seasons. Next year, he’ll join the DC Extended Universe in Wonder Woman 1984 in a currently undisclosed role (but maybe not a god, as previously speculated).
At this time, it’s currently a rumor that Pascal has joined the series. Thus far, he’s the only piece of casting news surrounding the show.
The as-yet untitled Star Wars series is set to debut on the Disney Play streaming service in 2019.
