Theater kids and musical fans, your time has come. FX's upcoming biographical miniseries, Fosse/Verdon, is the perfect combination of drama and razzle-dazzle that you've been waiting for. The eight-episode show will follow the love and creative partnership of choreographer-director Bob Fosse and his wife, the legendary Broadway dancer Gwen Verdon, with a particular emphasis on the perilous cost of their success. We're talking sex, drama, and — hopefully — copious musical dance breaks. FX recently dropped the trailer, and we can already tell this limited series is going to be gorgeous. Taking its inspiration from Sam Wasson's biography, Fosse, the upcoming FX series follows legendary dancer, choreographer, and director Bob Fosse and Broadway star Gwen Verdon, his wife. The jazzed-out drama details their love story, which began on the set of the Broadway production Damn Yankees. Verdon was the leading star while Fosse served as choreographer, and the two eventually fell in love, marrying in 1960. According to the official logline, "Fosse/Verdon will tell the story of these two brilliant, complicated individuals – the love they shared, the art they created, and the price they paid in the pursuit of greatness."

Cast-Production-Team.jpg

The cast is so star-studded, we already know we're in for a treat! Sam Rockwell and Michelle Williams portray our titular characters, with Rockwell looking almost unrecognizable as Bob Fosse and Williams playing Gwen Verdon, Broadway star and Fosse's wife. The rest of the cast is made up of Norbert Leo Butz, Bianca Marroquin (bringing us Broadway legend Chita Rivera), Margaret Qualley, Aya Cash, Nate Corddry (playing Neil Simon!), Susan Misner, Kelli Barrett (playing Liza Minnelli), Evan Handler, Rick Holmes, Paul Reiser, Ethan Slater, Byron Jennings, and Laura Osnes (portraying the Shirley MacLaine).

Lin-Manuel Miranda serves as executive producer with Dear Evan Hansen's Steven Levenson on as showrunner (he also wrote the pilot). Nicole Fosse, daughter of Fosse and Verdon, is attached to the project as a co-executive producer.

The first teaser for the limited-run series dropped during the 2019 Golden Globes.

The second trailer arrived during the Oscars in February.
