Shadowhunters Fans Hijack Netflix’s Anthony Bourdain Announcement

Following the death of celebrated chef and writer Anthony Bourdain earlier this month, Netflix announced that it would continue to keep his award-winning show Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown on the service. However, some fans of the recently cancelled Shadowhunters decided to use the announcement as an opportunity to petition Netflix to bring their show back.

“Some fans have noticed that Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown was scheduled to come off Netflix US on June 16,” Netflix wrote on Twitter. “As of today, we’ve extended our agreement that will keep Parts Unknown on the service for months to come.”

The tweet was then followed be a number of replies talking about Shadowhunter, some of which have since disappeared.

Debuting in 2016, Shadowhunters follows the adventures of Clary Fray, who discovers on her 18th birthday that she’s a human-angel hybrid. As part of the titular Shadowhunters, Clary is drafted into a secret war between angels and demons with Earth as the battlefield. The series is Constantin Films’ second adaptation of The Mortal Instruments novels, following the 2013 film The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.
