Star Wars: The Clone Wars to Return With New Episodes
The war was never finished… until now.
Lucasfilm took the entire Star Wars fandom by surprise earlier today by announcing that it was bringing back the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars from cancellation. The announcement was made with the arrival of a new complete trailer, which packs a whole bunch of surprises.
Although the trailer begins ominously, making us all wonder in what manner The Clone Wars is returning, it soon becomes clear that this is an entire new adventure, with the beloved cast from the original series. Your favorite Clone Troopers are there (Rex!), Obi-Wan and Anakin are walking side-by-side and, gasp, that’s the fan-favorite Ahsoka Tano.

The announcement came during the 10th Anniversary of The Clone Wars panel that was being held today at Comic-Con International in San Diego. The official Star Wars website then updated to reflect the surprise return of the series, which is said to have happened all because of the devoted fan base.
The shocking cancellation of the series after Season 5 left many fans disappointed, especially given the cliffhanger they were left with. Now, finally, Star Wars fans everywhere will get a chance to see the continuation of a story they would never thought would return.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars will return on Disney’s official streaming service. Although there is no official release date yet, the streaming service is expected to launch some time in 2019.
