The Flash’s Latest Actor Promotion Teases Season 5’s Main Plot
Expect to see a lot more of Nora West-Allen this fall. The Flash has upped Jessica Parker Kennedy, who plays Barry and Iris’ time-displaced daughter, to a series regular for Season 5.
Kennedy’s Nora West-Allen debuted in the first episode of “Crisis on Earth-X,” this past season’s four-show Arrowverse crossover, and appeared in four other episodes over the course of the season. Though she made quite an entrance, her identity wasn’t revealed until The Flash‘s Season 4 finale, where she crashed a party for Joe and Cecile’s newborn daughter and announced she had made a massive mistake.

According to executive producer Todd Helbing, Nora hails “from 30 years in the future, so 30 years from now… A lot of next season too, you’re gonna see this relationship between Barry and Iris and Nora, so we just wanted to give the audience a little glimmer into what her reaction is to everybody.” While there will obviously be a lot of superhero vs. supervillain battles, it seems apparent that this will likely be the main plot line running through Season 5.
Kennedy isn’t the only recurring Season 4 character to get bumped up to series regular. Danielle Nicolet, who plays Central City District Attorney Cecile Horton, and Elongated Man actor Hartley Sawyer will also be a series regular in Season 5.
Airing Tuesday nights on The CW, The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker, Tom Cavanaugh, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Nicolet, Hartley Sawyer and Jessica Parker Kennedy.
