The Trailer For Season 12 of Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown Is Heartbreaking to Watch
CNN dropped the trailer for the final season of Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown and it's incredibly bittersweet. The 12th season will feature six episodes of Bourdain's travels before his suicide earlier this year. The trailer gives a look at the last episode produced with Bourdain's narration and complete involvement. In it, Bourdain travels through Kenya with comedian and fellow CNN personality W. Kamau Bell, and the two explore the wonders of the country.
"He wasn't making TV for TV's sake, he wasn't doing a job — this was his life's work," Bell said during the trailer, reflecting on the time he spent with Bourdain. "That he brings my name into that, I feel a tremendous responsibility to learn the lessons that I learned when I was with him, to deepen the work that I'm doing, and to prove him right to want me to be on an episode of Parts Unknown."
Bourdain recently won several posthumous Emmy awards for his work on Parts Unknown, including one for its digital webseries spinoff, Anthony Bourdain: Explore Parts Unknown. Fans can watch previous seasons of Parts Unknown on Netflix before the new season premieres on Sept. 23.
