Walking Dead Season 9 Casts Another Key Character From the Comics
Another new character has joined the cast of The Walking Dead‘s ninth season and it’s a character that should be familiar to fans of the comic book series.
Cassady McClincy has been cast in a recurring role as Lydia, the daughter of Alpha portrayed by another series newcomer Samantha Morton. Both characters are key figures in the comic book source material by Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard with Alpha leading a group of survivors known as The Whisperers.

The Whisperers walk amongst the ravenous hordes of the undead, camouflaging themselves in outfits of human skin. While the group eventually comes into conflict with the survivors led by Rick Grimes, Lydia defects to Rick’s faction after falling in love with his son Carl.
With Carl having died unexpectedly in the middle of Season 8 and Rick expected to be phased out of the show in the first half of the upcoming Season 9, it’s unclear how their absences will impact the coming Whisper War and Lydia’s allegiances.
