Westworld, Stranger Things Among 2018 Emmy Award Nominations
Genre series are well represented among the nominees for the 70th annual Emmy Awards, with HBO’s Game of Thrones and Westworld, Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale and Netflix’s Stranger Things earning nods for Best Drama. They’re joined in the category by NBC’s This Is Us.
The nominations, announced this morning in North Hollywood, California, also included acting nods for Westworld stars Ed Harris, Jeffrey Wright and Evan Rachel Wood, and for Orphan Black‘s Tatiana Maslany and The Handmaid’s Tale‘s Elisabeth Moss.
Nominations for supporting performances in a drama included David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown for Stranger Things, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Peter Dinklage and Leana Headey for Game of Thrones, Yvonne Strahovski, Alexis Bledel, Ann Dowd and Joseph Fiennes for The Handmaid’s Tale, and Thandie Newton for Westworld.
The winners of the 70th Emmy Awards will be presented Sept. 17 in a ceremony broadcast live on NBC.
