Hedy Lamarr was a star of the screen in the Golden Age of Hollywood. Most people are not aware of her life story or contribution to science.
Lamarr married an aristocrat in Austria involved in the development of weapons for the Germans. The knowledge she absorbed by eavesdropping on his meetings served her in developing jamming signals she and composer George Antheil submitted to the U.S. government. That technology did not end up getting used in the war effort, but it forged the beginning of cellular devices, WiFi and computers. Lamarr’s secret work in this area did not become known until after her death.

Gadot, on the other hand, was recognized by Time for her work this year, making the publication’s list of the 100 most influential people. She is currently filming her next outing as Diana Prince, Wonder Woman 1984, and will star in the upcoming film Red Notice with Dwayne The Rock Johnson.
Neither Showtime nor Gadot’s reps commented on the status of negotiations for the series.
