Avengers: Black Panther’s Quest Books Major Voice Talent as Series Locks Release Date

When Avengers Assemble returns on Disney XD, it will feature some serious guest stars for Season 5.

Rebranded for its fifth season as Avengers: Black Panther’s Quest, the animated series will shift its focus to Wakanda as T’Challa and Shuri face a mix of new and old threats to the throne. At today’s Marvel Animation panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego, the official release date and several addition to the voice cast were announced by SVP of Animation and Family Entertainment Cort Lane, SVP of Production and Creative Director Eric Radomski and Senior Director of Development and Production Harrison Wilcox.

The Disney XD series will return on September 23 as the Avengers arrive in Wakanda to help Black Panther against the machinations of the mysterious Shadow Council. The villainous ensemble will be comprised of Killmonger (Keston John), M’Baku, Klau (Trevor Paul), Zemo, Madame Masque (Wynn Everett), and Tiger Shark (Matt Mercer). Everett reprises her role as Masque after first portraying the character in live-action on the second season of Agent Carter.

Outside of the antagonists, new additions to the voice cast include Daisy Lightfoot as Shuri, Scott Porter as Bucky Barnes/White Wolf, and, perhaps most interestingly, Stan Lee and Mark Hamill. There are currently no details on who Lee and Hamill will be voicing at this time but it’s a reasonably safe to assume Lee will be lending his voice to some visible facsimile of himself as with most of his cameos.
